Domaine de Mirail
Domaine de Mirail: Renaissance of a Historic Terroir in Armagnac, Lectoure
Armagnac and French Tuscany: Domaine de Mirail Reinvented
Nestled near Lectoure, in the Lomagne region that Stendhal called the "French Tuscany", Domaine de Mirail is reborn from its rich winegrowing past. As far back as the 15th century, vines were planted on this exceptional terroir, the precursor of the quality we know today. Five centuries later, Charles Hochman and his son Charles-Antoine are breathing new life into these 30 hectares of vines, once abandoned.
Organic Armagnac: A Certification and a Commitment at Domaine de Mirail
Since 2010, Domaine de Mirail has been committed to organic farming, which will be extended to the entire estate in 2019. This Organic certification guarantees wines produced using environmentally-friendly viticulture techniques, without the use of chemical products. The flora of Gascony flourishes around the vines, testimony to the biodiversity preserved.
Armagnac and Biodiversity: The Taste of LimestoneTerroir
At Domaine de Mirail, biodiversity is a core concern. This approach favors grapes with a higher concentration of tannins, resulting in intense wines that faithfully reflect the estate's unique limestone terroir.
The Armagnac of Tomorrow: Tradition and Modernity at Domaine de Mirail
Looking to the future, Domaine de Mirail wines combine tradition and modernity. Their exceptional aromatic and taste qualities, drawn from a terroir rich in limestone outcrops (Peyrusquet), appeal to French and international markets.
