Behind Marquestau lies a beautiful story, that of a company founded in 2013 by four friends eager to perpetuate the legacy of Martial Darraba, an Armagnac producer in Hontanx. Among them, Jean-Michel Lamothe, a passionate winegrower, joined forces with Julien Tastet, Thomas Dufau, and Sébastien Sarrade, all natives of Bas-Armagnac, united by their deep love for their region.

Over the years, Marquestau has structured itself and diversified, creating a range of M wines that have contributed to its growing renown in the wine world.

Today, Domaine de Marquestau continues to showcase Gascony through elegant, modern and refined products, reflecting their passion and commitment to promoting this magnificent region.

Thomas Dufau, after a distinguished career in another field, joined Marquestau as General Manager. Since 2023, he has brought his passion and leadership to the management of the estate, helping to enrich the visitor experience and promote the heritage and products of this renowned wine and spirits estate.

Domaine de Marquestau is located in the Bas-Armagnac region, more precisely in Hontanx, a peaceful Landes village 20 km from Mont de Marsan. This 18th-century estate combines tradition and renown, as a prestigious breeding farm and winegrowing estate. A family perpetuates ancestral know-how in the art of producing quality wines and Armagnacs.
